Vision
Empower Young people in East Africa through sports, Health information, Education and the Christian faith.
Mission
To be a leading Sports Organization providing participatory opportunities for the youth in East Africa through Health Information, Education and Christian faith.
Objectives
- Give young People a chance to participate in sports.
- Improve the local community through drug-free leisure activities.
- Provide sports for all irrespective of Gender, Race/Tribe, Ability, Denomination and Religion.
- Train young people in Sports, Leadership, Administration, Bible Knowledge and democratic principles.
- Provide information on Health, HIV/AIDS, First Aid and Drug Abuse.
- Enhance education among young people.
- Promote gender equality.
- Work towards economic independence and sustainability for the national organization.
- Enhance co-operation between young people in East-Africa and Norway.
- Promote Cultural activities among the youth.
- Provide competitive and non โ competitive activities.
CHRISC will help provide equipment and the resources required for the young people to have a chance to participate in better-organized co-curricular activities.
CHRISC will help to provide both competitive and non-competitive activities in order to have equal participation amongst the members.
CHRISC activities will be open to all irrespective of their Gender, Race/Tribe, Ability, Denomination and Religion.
1. Equality
All members of the Organization will have equal rights and opportunities.
2. Participation
Registration is open to all youth.
3. Transparency and accountability
a) All accounts should be open to periodic inspection and auditing.
b) Financial and narrative reports should be given to the National Board and District Coordinators.
c) News reports should be availed to all members of the organisation (informative)
4. Economic independence and sustainability
We will work towards self-sustainability for the CHRISC Organization and economic independence of members of the organization.
A. Core areas of activity
1. Sports.
- Organizing tournaments and leagues.
- Organizing national and regional sports camps.
- Conducting weekly training sessions in all local groups.
- Providing leadership training in different sports.
- Arranging courses in refereeing, T4T โ courses and courses in different types of sports.
2. Education/Democracy
- Organizing Leadership seminars and workshops.
- Training young people in organization building, board participation and administration.
3. Health Education
- Organizing seminars, camps and workshops and train peer educators.
- Facilitate day โ seminars on HIV/AIDS at schools.
- Training in life skills.
4. Christian Faith
- Bible sharing sessions at breaks during CHRISC organized tournaments, camps, and local training sessions.
- Teach about Christian values in the local groups and in tournaments.
5. Fund-Raising
- Encouraging fund-raising projects at the local, district and national level to increase self-sustainability.
B. Co-operation
CHRISC will collaborate and enter into partnerships with other youth organisations both locally and internationally.
C. Area Of Operation
The area of operation will be the whole East Africa.
D. Approach
- CHRISC will work in partnership with Churches, Schools and other Non-Governmental Organizations to set up clubs and groups.
- CHRISC will carry out sports camps, leagues, training arranged locally, nationally and regionally, arranged by the young people themselves.
- CHRISC will carry out courses and seminars for its members and others to foster capacity building within the organization, and by participation and "learning by doing".
- CHRISC will provide health information and HIV/AIDS education for both members and non-members.
- CHRISC will set up Fund-raising projects in order to facilitate economic freedom amongst its members and sustainability of the project.
