Objectives of
the Fredskorpset project
This project
is a Sports Exchange Program with four partners, KRIK Norway, CHRISC Uganda,
CHRISC Tanzania and MYSA, through which we aim to strengthen our relations,
organise young people, and use sports as a tool for Health/HIV/AIDS information,
Education and community development.
The
participant's working responsibilities
Ismael; South-
South (from MYSA to CHRISC Tanzania):
Share Sports
skills, coaching and refereeing and leadership knowledge, and educate young
people in CHRISC Tanzania on Health/HIV/AIDS and community development.
Activities:
- Hold
training seminars on leadership and on volunteerism.
- Teach and
hold courses on leadership, refereeing, coaching, first aid, organising leagues
and tournaments.
- To
participate in the organisation of camps and tournaments.
- Teach in
management of sports equipment including first aid kit.
- Raise
awareness and hold seminars on the HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, sexuality and
reproductive health.
- Increase
awareness on the role of sports in sustainable development programmes in the
community e.g. sports and education, how to link sports and environment, etc.
- Share about
Kenyan values and culture to CHRISC in Tanzania.
- Introduce
new activities, warm-ups etc.
- Help to
organise exchange visits and strengthen the network between MYSA and CHRISC in
Tanzania and Uganda.
The
participant will be working with Mr. Aron Lomniaky, National Coordinator in
Tanzania.
The office will be at the National CHRISC Office at the St. James Church Arusha.
Henry; South-
South (from MYSA to CHRISC Uganda):
Share Sports

Activities:
- Hold
training seminars on leadership and on volunteerism.
- Teach and
hold courses on leadership, refereeing, coaching, first aid, and introduce new
concepts like sports leagues, tournaments and camps.
- To
participate in the organisation of camps, league and tournaments.
- Train youth
in football skills in Luwero, West Buganda and Namirembe Dioceses.
- Teach in
management of sports equipment including first aid kit.
- Raise
awareness and hold seminars on the HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, sexuality and
reproductive health.
- Increase
awareness on the role of sports in sustainable development programmes in the
community e.g. sports and education, how to link sports and environment, etc.
- Participate
in seminars for sustainable development in the sports programme of CHRISC Uganda
- Share about
Kenyan values and culture to CHRISC in Uganda.
- Introduce
new activities, warm-ups etc.
- Enhance the
networking between CHRISC Uganda, CHRISC Tanzania, MYSA, CHRISC Kenya and KRIK
Norway.
The
participant will be working together with CHRISC Coordinator in Uganda Mr.
Emmanuel Manishimwe. The CHRISC office is based in Kampala. In addition the
participant will work closely with National board in CHRISC Uganda and with the
districts boards and district coordinators.
Marianne and Bjarne; North –
South (from KRIK Norway to MYSA):
Work as
physioterapists in MYSA and teach in physioteraphy, body massage, first aid, and
rehabilitation of sport injuries and participate in MYSA activities and
organisation, and if possible, help developing newsletter or database.
Activities:
- Perform as
physioterapist in MYSA and teach others skills in physiotherapy and body
massage.
- Develop a
physioterapy manual for use in MYSA after his or her departure.
- Teach and hold
seminars on first aid, how to rehabilitate sport injuries.
- Join MYSA
sport management group, HIV/AIDS committee and leadership academy.
- Enhance the
networking between MYSA, CHRISC Uganda, CHRISC Kenya, CHRISC Tanzania and KRIK
Norway.
- Participation
in MYSA leagues and tournaments
-
Sharing about
Norwegian culture and Norwegian language to MYSA including MYSA members leaving
for Norway Cup or Norwegian Folk High Schools.
The
participant will be working in the MYSA head office in Nairobi together with
Peter Karanja, Deputy Director of MYSA.
In addition
MYSA has 57 full-time staff members.
